S.O.G with P.I.P.?

Finally, I have the granddaughters and the camera in the same place at the same time...and yet again, aren't they the cutest!!! One of my girlfriends mothers once had a picture album in her purse that was named S.O.G. with P.I.P. The aconyms stood for Silly Old Grandma with Pictures in Purse! I don't know about that...I guess I would be a S.O.G with P.O.B. (Silly Old Grandma with Pictures on Blog! but I sure love them!!!

Aren't they cute!!!

Just got this fairly new picture of my grandson's

thought I needed to brag some more...after all w

what's a blog good for if you can't brag!!!

The eye's have it!!!

On Allen's birthday, he recieved a very special gift. He has been having some real trouble with his eyes. It was diagnosed as a condition called Fuch's disease. It is a degenerative condition and it progressed really quickly with Allen. The eye doctor, Dr. Parson's, tried some other preventative measures but they didn't work and so on September 8th he recieved a new cornea. This was from a 30 year old donor. I have come to appreciate the little DONOR sign on a driver's license so much more. In all our gratitude, we also realize someone else is suffering a loss in their lives. Allen's eye has healed very well and his eyesight is drastically improved. (He's not frightening to drive with at night anymore :).

I'm sooooo PROUD!

Holly has really gotten after me because my posts are so far behind...I just sit around all day so I don't know why I don't have time to blog...!Anyway, last month Allen was awarded Employee of the Year for Orem City. We attended the employee dinner in September. It's always nice and if we don't have anything else planned it's fun to go. As we sat down with our plates in the way too crowded Orem Senior Center, I picked up the program just to see what was happening. There staring back at me was a picture of my dear husband. I turned and asked him why he didn't tell me that he was receiving this honor. He replied that he didn't know and that he was so embarrassed...and I think if he could have gracfully slipped out of the room he woud have! He was embarrassed but I was very proud of him. He is such a great man and I love it when others recognize that too. He was given a cash award and a very nice gift certificate to the Homestead in Heber City. Way to go, HONEY!

Two More on the Way!!!

We have just recently found out that two more little ones
will be joining our family. Josh and Whitney are expecting
a little girl in February and Derek and Ryann in late April.
I absolutely love my grandkids and the more the merrier as far
as I'm concerned!!! Allen and I will need to get busy earning
money to remodel to accomodate our growing family!

IT'S PAID FOR!!!!!!!

Allen and I always had this dream that when we FINALLY paid the house off we would take all our kids out to a very nice place for dinner and pick up the tab, hopefully not any more than the house payment we had been paying the next month. Well, I'm happy to report after 29 years we did pay it off and on Wednesday we all went to Ruby River. It was fabulous! We had so much fun talking, laughing and celebrating! We made the kids promise that they would do the same with their kids when their homes were paid off. I remember the day, so very long ago, when we never thought we would ever do this...but it's a very fulfilling accomplishment. I don't think I will purchase another house in my lifetime to celebrate twice with my children...BUT, you just never know!

To therapy I go!

Let's face it...this old body doesn't do anything like it used to! Tuesday, I started physical therapy to work on my back that doesn't quite bend, lift, stretch, or even lay down the way it's supposed to. If that wasn't humiliating enough, one of the therapy assistants is a student I had in fourth grade over 10 years ago. He insists on calling me "Mrs. Clegg", mind you the 80 year old woman next to me is being addressed as "Ruth". I told him that once he graduated from high school he became an adult and in an adult world all adults who are friends can call each other by their first names!!! Cameron, that's the therapy assistant, will leave on his mission in September and he's an awesome young man, but this Mrs. Clegg thing has got to go. Meanwhile, things that should be getting better aren't and things that didn't hurt before are now hurting. I think PT stands for pain and torture, j/k!

Mom and Dad

Yesterday was my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Dad had a really hard day. Mom has been gone nine months now and everyday it gets harder and harder for dad. He said yesterday that he hopes he can join her soon. I am not in a hurry to loose him but I know that if I was in his same position then I would feel the same way. By the way, I miss you too mom! Love you!

Hi Everyone,

Ryann just showed me how to make my blog look cute...not many people in my age catagory look at these things and so I figure all my daughter's in law and young teacher friends will be looking so it has to be cute...not just informational!!! My main purpose of this blog is to brag about my cute grandkids and then let everyone read about them and see their cute pictures! I can also brag about what an awesome husband I have and he will probably never look at this and be embarrassed about all the good things I tell about him so this is a great forum for me to have :)!!! I can't believe that summer is almost over and school will be starting soon. I know that most mothers think summer is too long but for teachers it's never long enough!!! I taught summer school with Holly this year and so summer really was short for me! NEVER AGAIN! If I even think about it, I'll come back and read this and remember! Good things happened this summer too...I got a new grandson on June 25th. It's so fun to have another one to spoil. Grandkids are truly the reward you get for not killing your kids.
